Dell is No Surprise
Published by Ronnie Simpson January 9th, 2009 in General PRAt the beginning of 2004 I wrote in a press release: “It looks inevitable that we will see a haemorrhage of not only IT manufacturing but IT service jobs to lower cost economies. The future for traditional Western economies appears to be in developing higher value added IT jobs.”
This was based on a global confidence technology survey which we manage out of Dublin in association with our international partner, Eurocom Worldwide. Ever since, the results of our survey were reinforced year on year. Not only manufacturing, assembly jobs will move to lower cost centres like Eastern Europe, China and India but services jobs as well.
This was such ‘non news’ that this year we have eliminated the question from the survey.
